Integrity was awarded the Marin and Kerr temporary shotcrete shoring wall which included installing 16,350 ft2 of shotcrete and anchors on a small and sloped building site. Integrity developed a work plan with the excavation contractor to sequence installation of the anchors that worked to expediate the bulk excavation and maintain efficiencies in the temporary shoring to complete the project on schedule. In addition to the challenging slopes, anchors were required to be installed above and below underground utilities. An extensive investigation with a combination of conventional utility locating, Ground Penetrating Radar and Hydrovacing in conjunction with survey was utilized to accurately locate all known utilities.

The project was complex due to the sloped site consisting of over 9 different wall elevations all with different anchor lengths, bar size and loads. Integrity worked closely with the design engineer to confirm all anchors were drilled exactly as per the design. During the construction of the shoring wall, Integrity worked closely with the engineer and excavation contractor to provide access for the drilling and shotcrete, while maintaining safe internal slopes.

The project consisted of IBO anchors installed with lengths of up to 40 ft using our excavator mounted hydraulic rigs. Hydraulic anchor rigs allow us to work in tight areas where large working benches required for outdated drilling equipment may not be feasible. We worked alongside the excavation contractor to allow them to continue their bulk excavation while we installed anchors at the same elevation as their excavators worked.
