Soil Anchors

Soil anchors, also known as ground anchors, are tensioned anchors used to stabilize soil masses and provide structural support. They are commonly employed for slope stabilization, excavation support, and foundation tie-downs for permanent structures.
Soil anchors are designed to resist tensile forces within the soil mass and transfer these forces to structural elements, which are the anchors themselves. Typically installed at an angle to maximize their resistance to pullout forces and improve stability, soil anchors play a crucial role in various engineering applications.

Soil Anchors Installation

At Integrity Shoring and Civil, we specialize in installing grouted anchors, which consist of a steel anchor bar grouted into a pre-drilled hole in the soil. The hole is then grouted to bond the anchor to the surrounding soil.
The installation process involves drilling a hole into the soil to the specified depth and angle, inserting the anchor (usually a steel bar) into the drilled hole using centralizers, and injecting grout by gravity or under pressure to fill the voids between the anchor and the surrounding soil, ensuring a strong bond.

The design of soil anchors considers factors such as soil type, groundwater conditions, anticipated loads, and safety factors. Project engineers must determine the anchor's capacity, length, diameter, spacing, and inclination angle to ensure stability and structural integrity.
